"A fantastic experience", says Pollard Decorating

BBC DIY SOS help a family from Inkersall, Chesterfield
First shown on BBC One on January 10th, 2012
John Pollard said,
"I received a phone call from the DIY SOS The Big Build Team to enquire if I would possibly give any of my free time into assisting with one of their projects in Inkersall Chesterfield. I did not hesitate to say yes, and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding and memorable work projects that I have been involved in.
"It was a great honour to assist Richard and Lisa and their family to help get their lives back on track as their daughter Madison was born with a heart defect and a rare eating disorder that requires 24-hour care from Lisa.
"Having a professional website and being a member of several trade organisations, Dulux Select Decorators being one, seems to have been a major factor in the BBC's initial contact."
DIY SOS - The Big Build is a BBC One programme which is all about helping families who are in desperate need for their homes to be upgraded to improve the family's quality of life. Such was the case for Richard, Lisa, Lewis and Madison of Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
Their story was first aired on BBC One in January 2012, and you can see the transformation of their home, which took only 9 days in total.
The DIY SOS Big Build television programme highlights the generosity of the local retailers and the professionalism and skill of the dedicated local tradesman who donated their free time to assist in completing this project.
